MG-60 from Hayashibara (Maltooligosyl Glucoside/Hydrogenated Starch Hydrolysate) is a starch derived carbohydrate syrup, comprising various kinds of saccharides, which provides additional benefits to hair care, skin care and cleansing products.

Use as a Non-Irritant
MG-60 may be used as a non-irritant in products especially formulated for sensitive skin. Furthermore it can even reduce irritancy or itchiness caused to sensitive skin by strong surfactants, such as those used in certain soaps.

For Skin Care: Toners, Creams
Retention of skin suppleness
MG-60 is ideally suited for providing retention of skin suppleness. A combination of MG-60 and glycerine can be particularly helpful in optimising the hygroscopic balance of skin care products, with the glycerine helping to improve dry skin and the MG-60 helping to retain skin suppleness.

Smoothness
The addition of MG-60 greatly improves the texture and smoothness of skin care products, whether formulated in an emulsion or a lotion.


For Hair Care: Shampoos, Conditioners
Improved body
When used in hair care products, MG-60 can improve the texture and body of hair, making it feel more luxuriant. The smooth coating provided by MG-60 helps prevent the “scratchy feeling” (due to high friction) that is associated with some shampoos after washing.


For Cleansing: Body Soaps, Shower Gels, Facial Washes
Improved foaming and bubble retention
When used in cleansing products, MG-60 readily lathers to create a fine and rich foam, which is retained for a prolonged period.
